First off, filming with Kara from 90 Day Fiance was a blast! She is such a warm and fun person, I can only really just gush over this amazing woman!
Anyway, the meads. The Blueberry Compote is one I made that I based off a recipe in a book called “Big Book of Mead Recipes” by Robert Ratliff. At this time I wasn’t stabilizing, so I eliminated that step in the process, but overall this recipe was pretty close to the original. It came out very well honestly, though I have no doubt it would have been even better if I had followed the recipe to a “T”!
The second mead we tried was the Chocolate Orange. This has been my most requested mead by FAR! (Spoiler alert: I am creating a fresh one for the channel!) This time around I am using a different method – including nutrients and stabilization. The flavor was surprising, and I had hoped it would have been a bit more chocolatey and orangey, but I did use Melter honey, and I did not toast my cocoa nibs before adding them. It’s the little things that make all the difference!
